The goal of the Baltic Young Artist Award competition, held for the second time in 2017, is to identify and acknowledge the young talents in Fine Arts from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and support them in starting their careers as professional artists. and the winner of the main award, decided by an international jury, receives a prize of 2000 euros, given out by the Latvian Museum of Contemporary Art Foundation.
